Maritime Pilot Programme


If you’re aiming for a career on the water or are just passionate about the sea, our pilot course is your gateway to getting out and about on our moana.
This pilot programme is both practical and hands-on. Based out of NMIT Marlborough it will run over one week and include a boat day trip out of Picton and also a visit to the Marlborough Port/Marina. So, if you have an interest in boating or marine operations come and join us and be part of something that will shape the future of Trades Academy options in this region.
Students need to be physically able to get on and off a boat safely.

- Boat Day on the water – Includes transport to and from Nelson

- New Zealand Certificate in Maritime (Crewing/Superyacht Crewing) Level 3
- New Zealand Certificate in Maritime Crewing – STCW Able Seafarer Deck Level 4
