
Aeronautical Engineering
Take a front seat in the world of aviation on this exciting hands-on programme that can take you around the world. Te Pūkenga NMIT has specialised workshops with real aircrafts for you to learn on and all the tech that makes it interesting.
This is the perfect training ground for people who learn by doing. If you are interested in mechanics, engines and aviation and relish a technical challenge this is the course for you!
Learn about the principles of aircraft flight, fabrication and maintenance practices. Students will be introduced to aircraft engineering, workshop requirements and basic assembly of aircraft structural components.
On completion of this course you will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge on the principals of aircraft flight.
- Demonstrate knowledge of safety on engineering worksites.
- Demonstrate knowledge of fabrication machinery, materials and processes.
- Produce simple engineering component drawings used CAD software.
- Create three-dimensional engineering models using CAD software under supervision.
Note: Some unit standards may change. Final information on the standards specific to your course will be available prior to starting your programme.
If circumstances change there could be mixed models of delivery e.g online, face to face one day per week or block options.
