Stephanie Yealands

Course: Uniformed Services
Graduated: 2017
School: Marlborough Girls’ College

Stephanie plans to join the army in the future and train to be on the front line. She says that the Uniformed Services course was an amazing, realistic experience; showing her just what’s involved in a range of services, including Ambulance, Fire, Police and Search & Rescue Helicopter.

“My favourite part was the time we spent with the Fire Service. We had lots of fun doing an exercise where we wore the full fireperson’s kit, including a blackened out mask. We had to complete a search of a house to see if it was occupied. It was exciting but also really exhausting! I have even more respect now for what people in the services do, the training they get and the commitment and dedication they have for their jobs.”
