Ruben has always had an interest in the beauty industry, and in particular make up artistry. “I really love learning about the history of beauty therapy and about make-up.”
Ruben enjoys being at NMIT, meeting up with students from other schools and being treated as an adult. “You get to come to NMIT on a Friday, learn relevant industry skills in a new environment, without having to pay for it.”
Ruben says that keeping up with his school work while he’s at Trades is not too difficult, although he admits that being well organized definitely helps! In the future Ruben would like to study make up artistry at the Cut Above Beauty School in Auckland.
