I heard about the Trades Automotive Engineering course from other students at my school. I have mucked about in the garage with my brother learning the basics, but the Automotive Engineering course has really “sparked my brain”.
I have a real interest in cars, and I like the hands-on approach of this class. I especially enjoy figuring out what is wrong with an engine, how it is functioning and then figuring out how it can be fixed or improved. A technical skill I have enjoyed learning about is the electronics of a car, the circuits, where they go and how they work.
Our Automotive tutors are awesome, cool people who have very ‘young minds’ and are welcoming and supportive of everyone in the class.
I have been accepted in the NMIT Level 3 Pre Trade Automotive Engineering class for 2026; I hope to expand my knowledge and maybe get a motor mechanic apprenticeship. I can see my future working in either engineering, heavy machinery, or the hydraulics fields. I think if you are interested in cars or what makes engines work this is a great course to do.
