For Izzie, taking part in the Trades Academy Hairdressing programme has really helped her make up her mind that this is the area she wants to work in, in the future. “I like the practical part of the course best and the theory is very beneficial.”
Next year I’d like to return to NMIT to complete the fulltime Hairdressing course.”
In addition to Trades Academy, Izzie is also completing a Gateway programme at her school and doing work experience at a local hair salon one day a week. She says that the combination of Trades Academy and Gateway is great and she is grateful for the opportunity to do both.
