I decided to sign up for Hairdressing Trades Academy as I thought it seemed interesting and wanted to learn some skills around hair. The course has been fun and interesting.
I have learnt heaps of new skills and made new friends. You are made to work with different people as you have to work on their hair, this has been a great way to connect with the people on the course. I have enjoyed learning new techniques and skills, in particular how to wash hair properly and getting my hair washed by others.
I have felt well supported by the tutors; they are good at passing on their skills and knowledge to us and have explained what industry is like. I am Year 13 this year and will be finishing school. At this stage I am unsure what I am going to do beyond school, but this course has helped me gain a better understanding of Hairdressing and I now know this could be a possibility for me in the future.
