Brad was a Trades Academy student in 2014 attending the Building and Construction course at NMIT. Brad was also in the Gateway programme at Waimea College.
He said keeping up with school work while being on work placement and NMIT once a week wasn’t too hard. He made the most of his study periods and the teachers at Waimea College were awesome at helping him catch up on work he missed. Brad gained NCEA Levels 1, 2 and 3.
Brad has an apprenticeship with Bays Joinery in Stoke.
Brad recommends the Top of the South Trades Academy Building and Construction course at NMIT, he says, “It was really good and gave me a set of skills to take into the industry”.
